Carmen Reyes' Professional Portfolio
I am a passionate third grade teacher at Crockett Elementary School in Houston, TX. I graduated at Southwestern Adventist University with a BA in Religion. I hold Texas State teaching certifications in Bilingual and Special Education. With a long experience working with children in different fields, I believe that teaching is a sacrificial but rewarding profession that builds for the future and makes me feel realized. Completing a Master Degree in Bilingual Education at Houston Baptist University is a dream come true, a great opportunity for me as an educator.
Educational Phylosophy
I am a teacher that makes everything possible, even what seems impossible, to make students success at school, and furthermore, in life. I know that I am capable of leaving an everlasting mark in my students’ hearts, so I use every second available to guide them as independent human beings, to teach them how to make wise choices, to conduct them to develop their maximum potential at school, and to promote the sense of community we need to make our class a successful 21st Century class.

As a teacher, I want to communicate content and
skills clearly and coherently. Kerpoof is a Web 2.0 tool that has an enormous
potential to communicate content with a lot of visuals which facilitate students
understanding of lesson objectives.
Weebly is at the top of all the other tools I know. Setting up a Weebly account is a big step for a teacher that wants to create opportunities to consistently and effectively communicate with students and parents. |

The collage offers a huge opportunity to
provide differentiation for diverse students and it is also a way to
incorporate the effective use of technology in class.
I love the TEASe. It is the way to engage the students in learning experiences that promote higher-level thinking skills by asking questions. |
